I arrive from Ajmer, still taking in how the surrounding hills completely change the feel of the place.

midday

Before darshan, I stop for lunch and try tamatar sev for the first time. It is excellent.

afternoon

I walk through the streets to the Brahma temple, passing artisans at work in leather and stone. Inside, I notice that the tiles all seem to have been donated by devotees.

Afterwards I have tea from a vendor brewing it on a tripod, with a spice mix sprinkled over the top. I spend a little while at the sarovar, sit quietly by the ghat, and stop at a gurudwara we had seen on the way in.

We think about heading to another temple, but decide against it because we need to get back to Ajmer in time.
