I arrive by boat from Pakse and head first to the north side of Don Det for a dip in the river.

I continue on to Don Khon. I see the old locomotive rail route, walk to the falls, buy bamboo hats on the way, and cross the suspension bridges around the area.

Back on Don Det, I head in for another dip. The current is loud and restless, and at one point a crab bites my foot hard enough to leave me bleeding.

I find a lovely viewpoint over the islands and the river and sit there watching the light fade.

night

I stop to watch some fire dancing, have beer, fries, and a sandwich for dinner, and later head to a mini golf place called G-Spot. Our running bet for the nine holes ends up being 34 jobs.
